Hinvel uses artificial intelligence to illustrate stories, help creators write them, and let characters answer you. We want you to always know when you're dealing with AI, and what that means.

1. What is AI-generated

  • Images — character sprites and expressions, backgrounds, CG illustrations and covers are generated by AI image models.
  • Story text — when a creator uses the AI pipeline, the story bible, chapters and choices are drafted by AI. Creators can review and edit every line in the Studio; edits made by the author are never overwritten.
  • Character replies in Talk — whenever you type your own words, the character's answer is generated by AI in real time. These replies are not reviewed by a person before you see them.

Published stories carry a "Made with AI" label, character pages and Talk show an AI mark, and generated images include machine-readable metadata identifying them as AI-generated (IPTC/XMP trainedAlgorithmicMedia), in line with the EU AI Act's transparency requirements.

2. Characters are fictional

  • Every character on Hinvel is fictional. They are not real people, and they're instructed never to claim to be human. If you sincerely ask whether you're talking to an AI, the answer is yes.
  • Characters don't have feelings, needs or a life outside the story. They're designed not to guilt you into staying, spending or coming back.
  • Any resemblance to real people is unintended. Creating characters based on real people in sexual or intimate scenarios is prohibited by the Content Policy.

3. AI makes mistakes

  • AI output can be inaccurate, inconsistent or unexpected, and may reflect biases in the data the models learned from.
  • Don't rely on what characters or stories say as fact. Nothing on Hinvel is medical, mental-health, legal, financial or other professional advice.
  • Safety filters reduce, but can't eliminate, inappropriate output. If you see something that breaks our rules, please report it.

4. Memory

  • Characters remember your conversations with them so a relationship can develop — a summary of what happened, how you relate, and what you've shared. A character's memory is shared across the stories they appear in.
  • You can see what a character remembers on their page, and clear a character's memory at any time in Settings. Clearing memory doesn't affect your story choices or saves.
  • Deleting your account deletes all memories.

5. Your data and AI providers

  • Before your first Talk we ask for your consent to send what you type, and the character's memory, to our AI inference provider (Runware) so it can generate the reply. Story and image generation also sends your premise and story context to the provider.
  • We don't use your messages, memories or stories to train AI models. Creators can choose to allow a specific published story to be used to improve models; this is off by default and can be withdrawn.
  • Our provider processes this data on our behalf to return results. See the Privacy Policy for details, including international transfers.
  • You can turn Talk off in Settings and keep playing with author-written choices.

6. If you're struggling

Hinvel watches Talk messages for signs that someone might be in crisis, such as thoughts of self-harm or suicide. When that happens:

  1. the story pauses and the message is not sent to the AI;
  2. we show you people you can talk to right now;
  3. you can return to the story whenever you're ready.

We keep only an anonymous count of these events, to check the safeguard is working.

Help is available:

If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency number.

7. Healthy play

After long sessions we suggest a break between chapters — never in the middle of a scene. You can adjust the reminder in Settings.
